Screen printers at work

The finished product

The screen print workshop at Injalak Arts and Crafts produces a range of goods including screen printed t-shirts, tablecloths, tea towels, lengths of fabric, cushion covers and bags.

We print on cotton, linen and silk. The workshop is small and a maximum of only 8 metres of the all over fabric prints can be printed at a time. Our fabrics are extremely popular and as a consequence, demand always exceeds supply. Locally produced designs include crocodile, barramundi, mimi, bush fruits, echidna and flying fox. You will notice a number of screen print designs on the backgrounds of the Injalak web pages.

Our screen printers have in the past been responsible for producing limited edition prints on paper of paintings by local artists. Limited edition prints of; Ngarrbek (Echidna) by "Lofty" Bardayal Nadjamerrek and Makakgurr (Pelicans) by Gabriel Maralngurra have produced excellent results.

The workshop takes special orders which can be as diverse as fabric for dresses or curtains to printing on the canvas cafeteria umbrellas for the Fringe Club of the Adelaide Festival.
